Why Choose Us?

Why Are We the Best Choice to Help and Represent You in a Wildfire Case?

In the initial weeks after the 2025 Eaton and Los Angeles County wildfires began, there was already an overabundance of lawyers trying to speak to those who were affected by the fires. Attorneys began lining up, making it both overwhelming for those who were already overwhelmed, and difficult to know who to trust. While it is certainly hoped that there will be no exploitation or scams perpetrated on those who have survived these fires, unfortunately, that is often the world we live in.

Our Southern California wildfire lawyers would like you to take a moment and get to know us so that we can help you through this difficult time. We are serious wildfire and insurance bad faith attorneys who believe integrity and reputation are everything. If you are considering speaking to a wildfire attorney, you should take a hard look at the lawyer’s experience, insurance knowledge, reputation, and results. Keeping these things in mind, we would like to take this opportunity to share some facts about our attorneys.

Facts to Help You Make an Informed Decision

Did you know that many of the ads you're likely seeing for legal help related to the L.A. fires are marketing companies looking to sell your information to the highest bidder?

We are real lawyers offering real legal help.

We encourage you to meet us in person at one of our upcoming meetings.

We’ve Litigated in Lots of Fires…

Our attorneys have experience helping Californians in several fires including the 2007 San Diego wildfires (Rice/Witch-Guejito Fires), the 2012 (Utah) Wood Hollow Fire, the 2015 Butte Fire, the 2016 Erskine Fire, and the 2017 North Bay Fires. Since 2007, we’ve represented more than 5,000 victims of utility-caused wildfires and overseen the recovery of over $1.8 billion.

Not only have our attorneys assisted victims of several different wildfires, but our attorney Robert Jackson has held leadership positions in many different wildfire cases after being elected by attorney peers and selected or appointed by the courts. He was the Lead Liaison counsel for the Rice Fire and was involved in the work-up of the other San Diego Fires.

Why is this important for you? Robert coordinated and communicated with the court while organizing plaintiffs for pre-trial discovery and acting as the central voice for all the plaintiffs involved in the case. In 2007, attorney Robert Jackson, along with two other attorneys, developed the national model for handling mass tort wildfire cases.

A lead trial lawyer performs the majority of all the trial work. While the majority of cases settle outside of the courtroom, each case must be meticulously prepared to go to trial. Robert was the Lead Liaison counsel and lead trial lawyer for the Wood Hollow Fire. As a member of the executive committee and the steering committee for the Butte Fire, Robert Jackson prioritized activities, participating in discovery and the work-up of the case.

During the North Bay Fires (Tubbs, Sulpher, and Nunn), Robert was on the plaintiff steering committee that helped direct the course of the litigation. When PG&E filed for bankruptcy after the Camp Fire, Robert was a member of the executive committee that worked with the bankruptcy court. This executive committee consisted of 8-10 attorneys elected by all the wildfire plaintiffs’ attorneys.

The executive committee was charged with determining what was best for the victims of the wildfires; Robert was the natural choice as a well-respected attorney who had handled wildfire cases since 2007. During the Thomas Fire in LA, Robert consulted with avocado growers and then helped many plaintiff firms in the area handle the agricultural components of their cases. Most recently, after being voted on by his peers and approved by the court, Robert was the Lead Liaison counsel in the October 2019 Kincaide Fire.

Collectively, our three attorneys have handled every aspect pertaining to California wildfire cases, from preliminary discovery and focused sessions with experts to developing the themes of the cases and presenting them at trial. We have been intimately involved in the workup of discovery and depositions – something only about 5 percent of attorneys can say, even when they have “wildfire experience.” To be clear, when you are assessing the true experience of an attorney, it’s the leadership of wildfire cases that does the work peeling back the layers and asking pertinent questions to find the truth.

Our three attorneys are insurance authorities with more than 99 years of collective experience in taking on big insurance companies for Californians. Property insurance policies can be confusing and difficult to interpret at best. Attorney Scott Glovsky has spent more than three decades of his career going toe-to-toe with armies of corporate attorneys. He is consistently better prepared, better focused, and fully prepared to stand up for justice in every instance.

Attorneys Robert Jackson and Eric Ratinoff have reviewed thousands of property insurance policies in past wildfires. Together, the three of us will review your insurance policies, help you understand your coverage, assist with and evaluate your communications with your insurers, and speak with your insurance company on your behalf. We are offering these services pro bono and are not asking for any recovery from your property insurance policies.

You will work directly with the three of us, never with less experienced or inexperienced junior attorneys or paralegals. We will only take the number of cases we can personally handle. It is important to remember that when there are thousands of cases against utility companies, being near the front of the line has clear advantages. Our experienced wildfire attorneys know exactly how to get your case to the front of the line.

We invite you to ask others about us. All three attorneys have had long, successful careers, securing many of our cases through word-of-mouth from satisfied clients.

  • We are ethical, honest, straightforward, and trustworthy.
  • We treat our clients like we treat our own family members.
  • We truly care about our clients and the outcome of their cases.
  • We understand the situation you are currently in, and our goal is to help you get back on your feet in the best way possible.
  • We will fight for you whether you have insurance or not.
  • We are deeply gratified and rewarded when we can help people rebuild their homes, businesses, and communities – because they are our communities as well.
  • We do not do mass settlements or class actions for wildfire cases that minimize individual plaintiffs’ recovery. We handle each case individually, and we tell your story in your case.
  • We work on contingency – like virtually every lawyer who practices civil law. This means we do all our work before your case goes to the insurance company or to trial. We don’t ask for money up front, and we don’t want any recovery you receive from your insurance company.
  • Other attorneys often ask for our help; we give our help freely, to help ensure they can do their best for their clients.

If you would like to speak to one of our attorneys, please call (626) 243-5598 or fill out the form on our site to read more about how we can help you and your family. If you are a victim of the Southern California wildfires, you are facing a total disruption of your life. The future may understandably look dark right now. Reach out your hand, and we will be there to give you a hand up. While few in number, we have the resources, the legal knowledge and skills, and the experience to help you through this difficult time. Let’s get started rebuilding.
